Fair Play

  • Directed by: Chloe Domont
  • Cast: Phoebe Dynevor, Alden Ehrenreich, Eddie Marsan, and Rich Sommer

From writer/director Chloe Domont (in her feature debut) comes an exciting and nail-biting erotic thriller starring Bridgerton‘s Phoebe Dynevor and Star Wars alum Alden Ehrenreich. Dynevor and Ehrenreich play the newly engaged couple, Emily and Luke. Not only are the pair engaged, but they also work together at a cutthroat hedge fund.

When a new promotion arises and one of them gets it over the other, their happy engagement slowly devolves into something frightening and dangerous. Their power dynamics are permanently shifted and together they must face what the price of success and ambition truly means for their future.

Fair Play premiered at Sundance earlier this year and received high praise from critics, making its Rotten Tomatoes debut with a 90% approval score. After its Sundance debut, Netflix quickly entered a bidding war for the film with at least six companies, including Neon and Searchlight Pictures, before emerging victorious and acquiring the movie for $20 million.

Critics have praised the movie for harkening back to some of the best suspense films from the ’90s and its sharp writing. The movie will debut in select theaters on September 29 before coming to Netflix in October.

Fair Play premieres on October 13.
