Following his Oscar-nominated directorial debut A Star Is Born, Bradley Cooper’s getting back into the director’s chair for another movie that’s sure to be one of the year’s biggest. The A-list actor and director has assembled an amazing cast for the Netflix biographical drama Maestro.
Cooper also co-wrote and stars in the film, which counts Hollywood heavyweights Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg as producers. Adding to the must-watch factor of the film, Oscar and Tony nominee Carey Mulligan stars alongside Cooper.

Maestro release date
The film will be released in select theaters on Nov. 22 before making its Netflix premiere on Dec. 20, just in time for the awards season push at the end of the year. Maestro will have a premiere at the Venice Film Festival ahead of its theatrical and streaming releases.
As of August 2023, with both the actors’ and writers’ strikes still ongoing, it’s unclear if the director and cast will be able to attend the premiere at the Venice Film Festival or participate in any of the potential promotional efforts later this year.

Maestro movie synopsis
As a biographical drama, the movie takes a close look at American composer Leonard Bernstein’s relationship with actress Felicia Montealegre. The two were married until her passing in 1978 and together had three children. Maestro follows the ups and downs in both Bernstein’s career as well as his 25-year marriage.
In the teaser trailer’s description, Netflix offers this synopsis:
