Sweet Home season 2 release updates

When you’re talking about the best Korean dramas on Netflix, there’s no way you cannot include Sweet Home. When the first season premiered back in December 2020, people had no idea it would be as big as it is. This was before popular Korean dramas like Squid Game, Hellbound and All of Us Are Dead were even out. But with Sweet Home‘s unique plot, it instantly pulled in a lot of viewers.

In fact, it was the first South Korean series to rank on Netflix’s Top 10 list in the U.S. The first season also managed to be watched by 22 million viewers worldwide in the first month of its release. This was an incredible feat at the time.

However, fans had to wait almost two years for Netflix to officially renew the horror series. But the renewal announcement was definitely one to celebrate since the streamer didn’t just renew the show for one season but for two additional seasons!

It’ll be a while before we hear any news about a third season since the second season hasn’t come out yet, but we’re so happy to know that the show won’t be ending anytime soon.

Developed by Studio Dragon, Sweet Home is based on the Naver webtoon of the same name by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan. The first season follows a troubled teen boy named Cha Hyun-soo, who, after experiencing a family tragedy, moves into a rundown apartment complex where humans begin turning into savage monsters. He and his neighbors must then band together to survive.

In Sweet Home season 2, we see the return of Cha Hyun-soo (Song Kang), Pyeon Sang-wook (Lee Jin-wook), Seo Yi-kyung (Lee Si-young), Lee Eun-yoo (Go Min-si), and Yoon Ji-soo (Park Gyu-young) as they continue to fight to survive the terrifying monsters. Additionally, the season 2 cast includes new cast members such as South Korean actors Yoo Oh-seon, Oh Jung-se, Kim Mu-yeol, and Jin-young.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have an official release date for Sweet Home season 2, but it is confirmed to be coming to Netflix in Q4 2023. This means the second season will arrive on the streamer in October, November, or December. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for an October release, though. We’ll make sure to share the release date once it’s announced.
