6. Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights is all about the clear eyes, full hearts, and the bad decisions of the high school football players and their friends and families in Dillon, Texas. If you like drama and football, this is the perfect show for you! I don’t think there’s any treasure hunting, but as I mentioned, it’s dramatic, and I think Outer Banks fans can appreciate that aspect of this series.

There are five seasons of Friday Night Lights, and all five seasons are streaming on Netflix right now. Obviously, the high school football element is a little bit different than Outer Banks. And, there’s no treasure, but there are a lot of shared goals these “teens” are working toward. I already mentioned the relationship drama, but that’s such an important element of both shows.

Outer Banks and Friday Night Lights also have ridiculously stacked casts! You’ll recognize a lot of the major players from both of these great shows.
