The weekend is here, and you deserve some downtime. Why not spend that time watching some fantastic Netflix shows? This week alone, the streamer has released a long lineup of new titles, including two new series, Quarterback and Survival of the Thickest.  

This week’s top Netflix shows include the latest season of The Lincoln Lawyer and eight seasons of the USA Network series Suits. Also ranking high this week is season 3 of The Witcher that marks the final season for Henry Cavill. Don’t miss out on two Netflix original reality series, Is It Cake, Too? and Hack My Home.

July 2023 has a great lineup of new movies and shows. Don’t miss some of the great movies recently released, the action comedy The Out-Laws, the Adam Driver lead sci-fi adventure 65, and The Tutor, a thriller starring Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp.

Quarterback season 1

WATCH! The new Netflix original series Quarterback gives viewers an all-access look into the 2022-2023 football seasons of three high-profile quarterbacks from the NFL. Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota, and reigning Super Bowl champion and MVP Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs are featured in this documentary that looks at these players’ lives on and off the field.

Sugar Rush: The Baking Point season 1

SKIP! The latest baking competition series, Sugar Rush: The Baking Point, is the Mexican adaptation of the Netflix series Sugar Rush. This series features six teams of two, with one eliminated each episode. You can skip this one this week as there are many other baking and reality series that are more unique.

Survival of the Thickest season 1

WATCH! This series is based on Michelle Buteau’s autobiographical essay book Survival of the Thickest. The series chronicles the life of Mavis Beaumont (Buteau), a plus-sized African-American woman recovering from a breakup. She plans to rebuild her life with a “body-positive attitude, cute v-neck, and some lip-gloss.”

Five Star Chef season 1

SKIP! The newest cooking competition series, Five Star Chef, shows seven professional chefs battling it out for the chance to become the new chef of Palm Court restaurant at London’s luxurious Langham Hotel. While the prize is significant, there isn’t much else to set this series apart from other cooking competitions. Skip this one for now.

Insecure seasons 1-5

WATCH! All five seasons of the HBO comedy series Insecure are now available to stream on Netflix. This series is based on Issa Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl. Rae co-created and stars in this series about the awkward life events experienced by a contemporary African-American woman. Rotten Tomatoes rates the series with an average of 97.4% overall, so don’t miss this one.
