Netflix shows in danger of cancellation: Russian Doll

Of all the Netflix shows on our list, Russian Doll is most likely to be canceled in 2023. Of course, this is if Netflix hasn’t quietly pulled the plug already.

The second season premiered on April 20 and didn’t chart on the global top 10 list at all. Additionally, it’s been nearly a year since the second season was released, and Netflix still hasn’t announced a renewal. This isn’t unheard of, but the streamer doesn’t typically take this long to come to a decision on a show’s fate. It took four months from the first season’s release for Netflix to renew the show for a second season.

Maybe Netflix will surprise us and renew the comedy-drama series for a third season in December. But I highly doubt it. Series star and co-creator Natasha Lyonne has already begun starring a new mystery series, Poker Face, on Peacock. The new series has garnered positive reception and looks like a hit, which might pull focus from Russian Doll in a big way.
