Have you been missing quirky dramedies like Ugly Betty and Drop Dead Diva? Netflix might have the cure for you with their latest series Glamorous, starring Kim Cattrall and Miss Benny. It’s the perfect show to watch for Pride Month, and it’s out now!
But before you hit play, you might be curious whether Glamorous is an appropriate show to watch with your family. Or maybe you’ve got a teenager asking if they can check it out. Below, we’re giving you the scoop on what to expect from the series regarding mature content and age rating!
What is Glamorous rated?
Glamorous is rated TV-14, which is more or less like the television equivalent of a PG-13. Per Netflix, that rating is for nudity, language, and substance use.
This series follows a makeup artist who gets the chance to work for a cosmetics mogul as her personal assistant. It is is billed as a dramedy, but it will follow the characters as they pursue romance and career challenges, so there might be some sexual situations that are unsuitable for young viewers. The series features some partial nudity, with a few shirtless men and backsides shown.
Is Glamorous okay for kids?
This series appears to be aimed more toward teenagers and young adults, so it probably won’t be the best choice for elementary school-aged kids or younger. It was previously going to be a CW show, so that should give you a good idea of the type of content you might find in Glamorous.
The series has been reworked since it was conceived, and since it’s on Netflix, the writers will be able to put content (like strong language) in the show than they could on broadcast television. That said, even though the show stars Kim Cattrall, Glamorous is far from as risqué as Sex and the City. It should be fine for fans of shows like Heartstopper, Never Have I Ever, and XO, Kitty.
