Tiff and Mildred had one of the more complicated relationships on the Netflix dating show The Ultimatum: Queer Love. From the beginning, it was apparent that the two struggled to communicate healthily with each other and were often combative. So, what happens between them in the final two episodes of the season, and what is their relationship status now?
Spoilers ahead for The Ultimatum: Queer Love
Despite choosing Mildred, Tiff ultimately ended up in a trial marriage with Sam Mark, while Mildred chose Aussie Chau. Mildred and Aussie’s trial marriage ended badly when Aussie felt Mildred was being too pushy.
Aussie walked out on the trial marriage. Aussie and Mildred are not currently on speaking terms, but Aussie told Tudum the door was open for friendship in the future, saying, “There’s still some healing for me to do on my end, and I’m going to get there.”
Tiff and Sam’s trial period improved, though the two never seemed to have a romantic connection. Tiff proposed to Mildred in the season finale, and she accepted the proposal. But what happened after that?
Are Tiff and Mildred from The Ultimatum: Queer Love still together?
No, Tiff and Mildred broke up after the show. The two moved in together, and everything went downhill from there, with Mildred alleging that Tiff refused to get a job and was financially taking advantage of her.
Things got very heated between them during the reunion. Mildred revealed she had been arrested after Tiff reportedly called the cops on her because Mildred had been throwing things at her, including a dog gate. The entire showdown at the reunion was really uncomfortable to watch as it felt like Mildred was gaslighting Tiff. Tiff left the reunion early after walking offstage.
Why did Tiff leave The Ultimatum: Queer Love reunion?
In a recent conversation with Tudum, Tiff revealed they left during the reunion because they felt they were being gaslit by Mildred, who wouldn’t let Tiff get a word in edgewise. Tiff says the entire argument reminded them of the ugliest part of their relationship, but since they were no longer together, Tiff didn’t have to sit there and take it anymore, so they left.
Furthermore, Tiff says the couple had been broken up for at least four months prior to the reunion, a period where they’d finally had the chance to heal.
"“I had no ill intent toward [Mildred] and then she berates me onstage and it ripped open a huge Band-Aid for me. All the trauma I went through with her, the arguments we had and me just feeling humiliated and gaslit came right back.”"
On Instagram, Tiff has also been sharing thoughts regarding their relationship with Mildred, posting resources for people who need help healing from trauma, and offering frank discussions on their experience dating someone they imply was a narcissist.
Honestly, based on my own viewing of the reunion, I’m pretty shocked Netflix aired that entire (potentially very triggering) segment without adding a disclaimer or providing resources to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, so if you felt upset by the reunion, here’s more information.
