Multiple Korean productions, shows like Japanese series Sanctuary, and now Swedish crime drama Barracuda Queens are all proving to be a success on Netflix. It’s no surprise we’ve been seeing an uptick in the number of international titles available on the streaming service. The six-episode show stars Alva Bratt as Lollo Millkvist, Tindra Monsen as Klara Rapp, Sandra Zubovic as Frida Rapp, Tea Stjärne as Mia Thorstensson, Sarah Gustaffsson as Amina Kahlil, and Izabella Scorupco as Margaretha Millkvist. It began streaming on June 5, 2023 on the streamer.

What is Barracuda Queens about on Netflix?
Barracuda Queens is centered around a group of four “privileged” friends, Lollo, Klara, Frida, and Mia, in the ’90s, per the synopsis. They call themselves the Barracuda Queens from their days of partying at the Barracuda beach. But the fun gets out of hand when the festivities end up costing more than they were expecting. And so, the foursome hatch a plan to rob their new neighbor, Amina (Gustaffsson).
To their surprise though, she’s more interested in joining them on their quest. The group begins to target men who have “done them wrong” as well as their “obnoxious” and rich neighbors. By day they’re just students, but at night they’re “ruthless thieves.” Will they get caught?
The trailer reveals their attempts at thieving, how they think of themselves as Robin Hood in a way but well, they’re benefiting themselves not the poor, and how the close friends might end up having some internal conflicts between each other. Check it out below:
