A new month means Netflix has just added tons of older movies and a few shows to its catalog. Netflix recently put Mean Girls, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, We’re the Millers, The Ring, Hook, and more great films onto its platform. Which Netflix movies are you looking forward to checking out on the first weekend of June?

In terms of Netflix movies, this weekend isn’t an especially great one for Netflix Original films, as, generally speaking, the streamer favors older films over new releases for the first week of the month. However, you might have noticed the new German film Blood & Gold in the Netflix Top 10. This slick action film is perfect for Quentin Tarantino fans.

Besides that, it can be overwhelming to decide what to watch when Netflix dumps tons of older films onto its platform overnight. The following list will help you determine which are worth watching and which you can skip!

Best Netflix movies to watch this weekend

Blood & Gold

Watch! Blood & Gold is basically the German version of the Quentin Tarantino film Inglorious Basterds. A pitch-black comedy filled to the brim with bloody violence and fast-paced action, Blood & Gold follows a German deserter at the end of WWII who finds himself squaring off with a bunch of Nazis alongside a mysterious young woman. It’s from Blood Red Sky director Peter Thorwarth. Blood & Gold has received somewhat mixed reviews from critics, but audiences seem far more receptive to the film.

The Boss Baby

Skip! Despite being a poorly-received film, The Boss Baby has spawned a franchise with Netflix making several animated spinoffs. The actual 2017 movie that started it all is officially back on Netflix. It still isn’t very good. Netflix has superior animated options available if you’re looking for something kid-friendly.

Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy

Watch! Netflix seems to be cycling through the various Spider-Man movies between previously adding Andrew Garfield’s run in The Amazing Spider-Man and now the Sam Raimi trilogy starring Tobey Maguire.

It’s unlikely they’ll ever be able to stream the MCU films featuring Tom Holland, so it makes sense they would try to grab any other superhero films they can get. There have been a lot of Spider-Man movies throughout the years, but Raimi’s trilogy still holds up, especially the acclaimed Spider-Man 2, which many consider one of the best superhero movies of all time.

The Choice

Skip! If you love Nicholas Sparks movies and sappy romances, then The Choice might appeal to you. I vote for watching Teresa Palmer’s other movie, Lights Out, instead, although that’s a horror film. Netflix has a lot of great romances; this one from 2016 is a skip.

We’re the Millers

Watch! This 2013 crime comedy is still discussed fondly ten years later. Starring a fantastic cast that includes Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Emma Roberts, and Will Poulter, We’re the Millers follows small-time pot dealer David Clark (Sudeikis), who gets in over his head when he loses his stash and finds himself in the hole to a powerful supplier. To stay alive, he hires a fake family to get into Mexico and deliver a marijuana shipment in exchange for a big payday.
