Will The Machine starring Mark Hamill be on Netflix?

Stand-up comedian Bert Kreischer makes his feature acting debut in a new movie titled The Machine. It’s now in theaters, and many people are looking forward to watching it. But will it eventually be available to stream on Netflix? Here’s what we know.

The Machine is a comedy film helmed by Peter Atencio from a screenplay co-written by Kevin Biegel and Scotty Landes. Additionally, it’s based on Kreischer’s 2016 stand-up special of the same name in which he recounts his true experience with Russian mobsters back when he was in college.

Bert plays a fictionalized version of himself in the film. After Bert and his estranged father are kidnapped by a murderous Russian mobster and brought back to Russia to atone for something they say he did 20 years ago, Bert and his father must work together to make it out alive.

Besides Kresicher, the cast is made up of Mark Hamill, Jimmy Tatro, Iva Babić, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jessica Gabor, Nikola Đuričko, Oleg Taktarov, and others.

Will The Machine be on Netflix?

Unfortunately, The Machine is not available to stream on Netflix at the moment. However, it will most likely make its way to Netflix eventually because of the streaming giant’s deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Under the deal, Netflix gets first pay window rights to Sony films following their theater releases. Since The Machine is a Sony movie, it falls under the deal.

When will The Machine be on Netflix?

We don’t know when exactly the comedy flick will land on Netflix, but we’ve seen Sony movies be released on the streamer anywhere between 120-168 days after their theater releases. This means we could possibly see The Machine in September 2023 at the earliest or November 2023 at the latest. Don’t worry. We’ll share the official Netflix release date once it’s announced.
