Contestants from all over the country compete to become the next champion of Netflix’s Barbecue Showdown. This season is a little different from the first, which was formerly titled The American Barbecue Showdown, this time around, it’s just Barbecue Showdown, but world-class BBQ judges Kevin Bludso and Melissa Cookston are back to crown the next pitmaster while comedian Michelle Buteau returns to host.

Who wins Barbecue Showdown season 2?

In the finale, the competition comes down to the two finalists, Thyron “Big T” Matthews and Logan Sandoval. The last two pitmasters standing must go “whole hog” in their final challenge, serving snout-to-tail spreads to determine who will win. Ultimately, Thyron Matthews wins and becomes the newest Barbecue Showdown champion.

What does the Barbecue Showdown season 2 champ win?

Thyron walks away with $50,000! During his introduction in the first episode, Thyron noted that he works as a jail warden in Fayette County in Oelwein, Iowa. His dream is to retire and do barbecue full-time. That money should go a long way toward helping him fulfill that dream!
