The Son cast: Who stars in the 2023 drama movie?

The Son starring Hugh Jackman was released in theaters back in January 2023. Now Netflix subscribers will finally get the chance to see it when it drops on the streamer on May 20. If you’re looking forward to watching this film, we must share with you the cast list.

The Son is a drama movie helmed by Academy Award-winning writer and director Florian Zeller from a screenplay he co-wrote with Christopher Hampton. It’s based on Zeller’s stage play of the same name and follows a dysfunctional family struggling to reunite after falling apart.

The story centers on an overachieving lawyer named Peter who finds his life with his new partner and newborn baby turned upside down when his ex-wife unexpectedly shows up on his doorstep telling him their teenage son is struggling with mental health issues and needs his guidance.

The Son cast

As mentioned earlier, Golden Globe Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman stars in the film. He plays the protagonist, Peter Miller. He’s best known for his role as Logan/Wolverine in the X-Men films. He also had roles in Les Misérables, Movie 43, Prisoners, Pan, The Greatest Showman and Reminiscence.

Academy Award-winning actress Laura Dern plays the role of Kate Miller, Peter’s ex-wife. You might’ve watched her in the movies and TV shows Mask, Rambling Rose, Jurassic Park, Recount, Enlightened, Wild, Big Little Lies and Little Women.

Emmy nominee Vanessa Kirby portrays the role of Beth, Peter’s second wife. She’s best known for her previous role as Princess Margaret in Netflix’s The Crown. She also had roles in the films  Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Hobbs & Shaw and Pieces of a Woman.
