By Renee Hansen
This weekend, be sure to check out what’s available in Netflix shows. The streamer released a shorter list of titles this week, but that doesn’t mean the list isn’t full of excellent new titles. Don’t miss out on the new season of Queer Eye and the newly released XO, Kitty and McGregor Forever. Below we suggest three fantastic shows to watch this weekend, with two you can skip.
This week’s top Netflix shows include Queen Charlotte, Firefly Lane, Missing: Dead or Alive, The Night Agent, The Diplomat, and more. The streamer also recently released seasons 1-5 of the CBS crime procedural drama S.W.A.T.
Let’s go over those recommendations below!
Best Netflix shows to watch this weekend, May 19
Below are three recommended shows for this weekend and the two you can skip.
Queer Eye season 7
WATCH! The Fab Five are back for a new season of Queer Eye and ready for new transformations in New Orleans. This season, they will lend their expert skills to a frat house, a New Orleans Saints super fan, and a formerly incarcerated thrift store owner. Don’t miss it!
Selling Sunset season 6
SKIP! The next season of Selling Sunset is available to stream, but you can skip this one this week. Sure, the homes are more extravagant and the drama over the top, but there are many more amazing choices for your weekend viewing. Throw this one in the queue for a later date.
McGregor Forever
WATCH! The new limited series McGregor Forever takes a behind-the-scenes look into the life of MMA superstar Conor McGregor. McGregor is one of the UFC’s hot ticket items made famous by his trash talk and brutal strikes. This series reveals his humble beginnings in Dublin, personal and professional setbacks, and his heyday as one of the biggest names in MMA history.
Working What We Do All Day season 1
SKIP! Working: What We Do All Day is a new four-part docuseries executive produced and narrated by Barack Obama that looks at the lives of workers and their day-to-day experiences. Based on Studs Terkel’s 1974 book Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do, the series has its heart in the right place but loses steam when it gets to the bosses segment. You’ll be okay skipping this one this weekend.
XO, Kitty season 1
WATCH! One of the most highly anticipated releases this week is XO, Kitty, a spinoff of the wildly popular To All the Boys. This series sees would-be matchmaker Kitty as she begins a new school, the same one her mother attended at her age. An added bonus, or perhaps the real incentive to attend the school, is that Dae, her long-distance boyfriend, also attends. She has things planned out, but her plans quickly take a turn she didn’t expect.
