Is Firefly Lane over? (Will there be a Firefly Lane season 3?)

Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke return as Tully Hart and Kate Mularkey in Firefly Lane season 2 part 2, and it’s all everyone can seem to talk about. It’s always nice to spend time with these two beloved best friends. But will this be the last time we see Tully and Kate, or will there be a Firefly Lane season 3? Here’s what we know.

Firefly Lane season 2 took viewers on a wild rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. Our emotions were all over the place because of everything that happened to Tully and Kate’s friendship and them as individuals. It was really tough to watch Tully and Kate hit rough patches in their friendship when all you wanted them to do was makeup. And the end of season 2 was like a punch in the gut.

Is Firefly Lane over?

Yes, the latest seven episodes that dropped on April 27, 2023, were the final episodes of Firefly Lane. Netflix split the second season into two parts, so that’s why the second season released the first part in December and the second part in April, but both batches were part of the show’s second season, not the third.

Will there be a Firefly Lane season 3 on Netflix?

Unfortunately, there will not be a Firefly Lane season 3. On October 3, Netflix announced that Firefly Lane season 2 would be the final season. However, to soften the blow, the streamer revealed that the second season would consist of 16 episodes split into two parts. The first nine episodes were released on December 2, and the remaining seven episodes came out on April 27.

If you watched Firefly Lane season 2 part 1 in its entirety, you’d understand why the drama series doesn’t necessarily need a third season. As much as it hurts to say, Tully and Kate’s story was wrapped up in the second season. Now that part 2 is officially out, you can see how their story ends.
