Best romantic Netflix shows coming in 2023

Love will be in the air on Netflix all throughout 2023, thanks to all of the amazing and addictive romantic Netflix shows coming back with new seasons!

From January to December, we’re definitely being spoiled rotten with the returns and premieres of 11 and counting Netflix shows that celebrate and represent love in so many different ways. Whether its the relationships between best friends, the will-they-or-won’t-they romances that drive us crazy, or the young love of teen shows, it’s all coming this year.

Since the beginning of 2023, Netflix has already launched the latest season of Ginny & Georgia as well as the second and final season of Sex/Life. Netflix will soon release new seasons of fan-favorite series such as Sweet Magnolias, Bridgerton, and Virgin River, as well as the final seasons of both Firefly Lane and Never Have I Ever.

But there’s plenty more romantic shows to love on Netflix this year. We’re listing all of the best Netflix shows coming in 2023 from the romance, romantic comedy, and romantic drama genres, beginning below with the new romantic comedy series Survival of the Thickest.

Survival of the Thickest

The hilarious stand-up comedian, actress, and host of Netflix’s The Circle Michelle Buteau brings her talents to the streamer’s latest original romantic comedy series Survival of the Thickest. Buteau created, executive produces, and stars in the scripted comedy that’s also based on her book of essays of the same name.

In Survival of the Thickest, Buteau stars as Mavis Beaumont, a recently single stylist who’s attempting to thrive in all aspects of her life, including her professional and personal lives. Mavis has a solid group of friends and a body-positive outlook on life that lifts her through all of the ups and downs that come with all of those unexpected curveballs.

The eight-episode first season also stars Tone Bell, Christine Horn, Tasha Smith, and features guest star Garcelle Beauvais. It’s likely to be one of the most binge-able, laugh-out-loud funny, and feel-good Netflix shows of the year. All of the romance within Mavis’ search for love will be an added bonus. We’re already excited to start shipping.

If you’re a fan of other Netflix original comedy series with a touch of romance, such as Emily in Paris, Never Have I Ever, and Grace and Frankie, you’re definitely going to want to add Survival of the Thickest to your watch list. The new series begins streaming on July 13.
