Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are finally back together again onscreen! The pair reunite in Murder Mystery 2, which officially premiered on Netflix on March 31. Considering the sequel seems like it could be a big blockbuster, will Murder Mystery 3 be on the way soon?

When it comes to Sandler and Aniston’s big-screen team-ups, they always bring the laughs, and we hope to see the Murder Mystery franchise continue with a third movie. The sequel brings them back as Nick and Audrey Spitz as they take on their next high-profile case as newly minted detectives.

What are the chances for Murder Mystery 3? They could very easily embark on another murder mystery case, right? Here’s what fans need to know about the potential for a third movie as of the release of the highly anticipated sequel.

Will there be a Murder Mystery 3 on Netflix?

As of the sequel’s release on Friday, March 31, Netflix has not indicated whether a third installment in the film franchise is in the works. Murder Mystery 3 could be a safe bet best on the performance of the sequel, which should be huge based on the original.

Murder Mystery was released in June 2019 to over 30 million households checking out the movie, which marked the biggest opening weekend for a Netflix original movie at the time. Within a month, the film had garnered about 73 million household views.

Based on the viewership of the first movie, Murder Mystery 2 was announced to be in the works by October 2019, and Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston confirmed they were reprising their roles in September 2021. The movie was filmed from January to April 2022.

We’ll have to wait and see if the sequel beats the viewership of the original and makes a case for Murder Mystery 3. Given Netflix’s strong relationship with Sandler and the ending leaving the door open for future stories to be told with Nick and Audrey, we can’t see them parting ways when they could have a super-successful comedy trilogy under their belt.
