Love is Blind season 4 is out now on Netflix, with new episodes dropping each Friday. This season we’re following five main couples as they go from getting engaged in the pods to walking down the altar. The finale won’t be released until late April, but there is still plenty of drama to get invested in until the ceremony.

With new episodes streaming, you might be thinking about the cast and how much money they make for starring on one of Netflix’s hit dating shows. The answer might surprise you.

Love is Blind contestants make approximately $1,000 per week

If you thought reality television was destined to make these people rich, then you are sorely mistaken. The cast generally makes about $1,000 per week, and that’s for working days that can easily extend to the double digits. According to a lawsuit filed by season 2 contestant Jeremy Hartwell, the cast was expected to work every day and up to 20 hours a week. The main cast generally makes around $8,000 by the end of their time on the show.

Per Us Weekly, if the $1,000 rate is true, then the suit alleges the cast made “less than half of the applicable minimum wage rate of $15.00 per hour” in California during the show’s second season. It’s possible that has changed in follow-up seasons.

That said, $1,000 per week seems pretty common in the reality TV industry. Us Weekly reports that Big Brother, The Challenge, and 90 Day Fiancé contestants all make about the same amount, give or take.

Who pays for the Love is Blind weddings?

There are some conflicting reports regarding the wedding ceremonies on Love is Blind. Women’s Health reports that couples pay for the majority of their wedding on the show, while Netflix only chips in a little. However, a former castmate argued that wasn’t true and stated Netflix paid fully for each wedding.

Well, a production rep reached out to Women’s Health to clarify things and said that while they do chip in for the wedding, it’s really up to each couple to decide on their budget because these are meant to be their real wedding ceremonies.

In the article, the rep is quoted saying, “Of course production supplies some of the basics, but because these are their real weddings, it’s up to them as to how to spend their money.”
