Netflix has a new comedy coming our way, and this one stars Rob Lowe! And not only him but his real-life son John Owen Lowe as well! The father and son duo teamed up to co-create, star, and executive produce Unstable, which dropped Thursday, March 30, 2023, on Netflix.

The older of the Lowes plays Ellis Dragon, while John plays his son Jackson Dragon. The show also stars Aaron Branch as Malcolm Drummond, Emma Ferreira as Ruby Rosario, Rachel Marsh as Luna Castillo, and Sian Clifford as Anna Bennet. The series will have many guest stars, including Fred Armisen as Leslie.

Behind the scenes, co-creator Victor Fresco executive produces the series alongside Marc Buckland. So what can you expect to see in the comedy? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Unstable synopsis: What is the Netflix series about?

The Lowe-led show will feature a total of eight, half-hour episodes that explore the relationship between father and son, Ellis (Rob Lowe) and Jackson (John Owen Lowe), respectively. Ellis is an eccentric biotech entrepreneur trying to improve the world while being in an “emotional free-fall,” per the synopsis. His estranged son Jackson is the complete opposite. When his dad needs help with his company, Jackson steps in to help. But will he be able to do so while escaping the shadow of his “larger-than-life-father?”

The trailer reveals Ellis’ big personality, the fact that the father and son haven’t talked to each other since Ellis’s wife and Jackson’s mother passed away, and how the duo’s relationship works. Check out the video below:
