Is Hawkins the traitor in The Night Agent?

Although the early episodes of The Night Agent might leave you believing Deputy Director of the FBI Jamie Hawkins is a traitor and was the mole in the White House connected to the metro bombing, Hawkins was not a traitor. In fact, he was actually one of the good guys on the show!

While Hawkins’ death was originally set up in a way that made it appear as though his partners had double-crossed him, Hawkins was actually murdered because he was getting too close to uncovering the truth about the traitor’s identities and plans.

Is Peter a traitor in The Night Agent?

Although Peter is framed as being the traitor in The Night Agent, he is not the true traitor as fans see as the season plays out. Peter happens to be the perfect fall guy due to his father’s traitorous past, which is why he becomes the real traitors’ go-to fall guy when they need to pin things on someone. While Peter himself has to question who to trust, the audience can go into the show knowing Peter can be trusted and is the show’s central hero.

Can Rose be trusted in The Night Agent?

Because of the many shocking betrayals that occur across the season as we find out many characters aren’t who we thought they were, it’s easy to question whether Rose can truly be trusted or if she had ulterior motives of her own that could put Peter in harm. However, Rose’s intentions are pure as all she wants is to find the people responsible for the murders of her aunt and uncle and to put a stop to the planned attack.

Who is The Night Agent traitor?

While there are many bad guys and traitors introduced as part of the broader conspiracy theory at the heart of The Night Agent season 1, the three main traitors behind the events that play out over the season are Vice President Redfield, military contractor Gordon Wick, and White House chief of staff Diane Farr.

At the heart of the conspiracy is the desire to assassinate Omar Zadar, a foreign leader who the US is looking to become an ally with. The plan to assassinate Zadar is what kicks off the events of the show, though that’s not clear initially when Vice President Redfield and Wick come up with a plan to assassinate Zadar by hiring someone to place a bomb on a metro train with the plan being for the bomb to detonate near a gas line that would result in a larger explosion in the area where Zadar was staying. The plan was that in the chaos of the attack and the metro train looking like the target, no one would suspect the real target was Zadar.

When Peter stops the metro bombing from happening, Redfield and Wick have to clean up the mess they’ve created which is when they bring in Farr, knowing she’ll do anything to protect her friend the President, and help clean up the mess and keep the truth from coming out.

After the bombing is thwarted, Redfield and Wicks decide to proceed with a second attempt at taking Zadar out, but this time they take things a step further by deciding President Travers needs to be taken out of the picture as well. It’s at this point, they cut Farr out of their inner circle knowing she would never go for a plan that involved harming the president, and set a plan into motion to assassinate Travers and Zadar during their meeting at Camp David.

Fortunately, Rose and Peter are able to stop the attack with a little help from Farr, who comes to their aid once she learns about the plan to kill the president.

Is the president dirty in The Night Agent?

No, President Travers is not dirty and is not involved in any way with the metro bombing or conspiracy to kill Omar Zadar. While there are a lot of questions about who can be trusted, we learn in the season that Travers is in no way connected to the conspiracy and actually becomes a target because of her desire to work with Zadar. Travers is also the reason Diane Farr got caught up in the conspiracy, as Farr’s primary objective was to protect the president from the actions of Wick and Vice President Redfield.
