As we race closer and closer toward the halfway point of 2023, Netflix continues to crank out the hits. In the past month, Netflix shows like The Night Agent, You, Love is Blind, Who Were We Running From?, and Waco: American Apocalypse have each found success in their own ways.

The Night Agent took the top spot in the top 10 a day after its release, You scored a renewal for its fifth and final season, and Love is Blind has been delivering all of the reality TV goods for fans who have been waiting for some drama. There’s much more where this came from in April!

This spring, Sweet Tooth makes its triumphant return as Firefly Lane says its final farewell with a bittersweet ending. There’s some comedy, some high-brow drama courtesy of Keri Russell, and a limited series that’s sure to grab as many awards as it does eyeballs.

Best Netflix shows April 2023

Here are the best Netflix shows to watch in April 2023, and a few other shows that can be sidelined until a rainy day. Let’s get started with what’s sure to be one of the most critically acclaimed new Netflix shows of the month, Beef.

Beef

Watch! Steven Yeun and Ali Wong star in Beef as a pair of strangers who engage in a feud after being involved in a road rage incident. As Danny and Amy get deeper and deeper into their conflict, their lives are upended in funny and revealing ways. The 10-episode comedy and drama will highly talked about (and heavily awarded) after its debut on April 6.

Transatlantic

Watch! Gillian Jacobs returns to Netflix after her underrated romantic comedy series Love in the forthcoming period drama Transatlantic. The Community alum stars in the new Netflix series, which takes place in the 1940s and tells the true story of Varian Fry, Mary Jayne Gold. and the Emergency Rescue Committee. They were responsible for helping more than 2,000 people escape occupied France. Don’t miss the new series on April 7.

War Sailor

Skip! A new limited series on Netflix, War Sailor centers on a sailor who finds himself in the middle of the ocean when World War II breaks out. If you’re not interested in series involving war, and a period piece at that, then War Sailor might not be the pick for you when it premieres on April 2. However, there are only three episodes, so that’s a bonus.

The Diplomat - Netflix shows

Florida Man

Watch! You’ve heard the “Florida man” headlines for years, and Netflix has finally made a limited series with that punchy title. Florida Man stars Edgar Ramirez as a struggling former cop who returns to his titular home state with the task of locating a mobster’s girlfriend. A simple enough mission is anything but simple! Check out all seven episodes of the limited series that’s sure to get people talking when it drops on April 13.

The Diplomat

Watch! Emmy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Keri Russell is coming to Netflix! The erstwhile Felicity and The Americans star (among many other great movies and shows) returns to TV in The Diplomat, which centers in the high-stakes world of politics and national security as an international crisis sends tensions soaring. Make sure to add The Diplomat directly to the top of your watch list when it premieres on April 20.

How to Get Rich

Skip! When it comes to reality television on Netflix, everyone pretty much agrees that its dating shows are the biggest winners. But on April 18, Netflix will try its hand at another lifestyle series with How to Get Rich, an eight-episode series featuring financial expert Ramit Sethi as he helps everyday Americans obtain their “richest lives.” Unless you want some money saving tips, feel free to skip How to Get Rich because that title probably isn’t a promise.

Netflix shows - Firefly Lane season 2 part 2

Firefly Lane season 2 part 2

Watch! As bittersweet as it might be, Firefly Lane will be coming to an end with the release of season 2 part 2 on April 27. While the final episodes of the final season were intended for release in June, Netflix moved the release up to April, meaning fans will get to see the conclusion of Kate and Tully’s story sooner rather than later. Get your tissues ready for the last six episodes of Firefly Lane. They’re a must-watch for fans!

Sweet Tooth season 2

Watch! It’s about time! After making a splashy debut on Netflix in June 2021, Sweet Tooth will finally make its comeback with season 2 on April 27. Almost two years have passed since we last caught up with Tommy, Gus, and all of their friends and enemies. When the next batch of eight episodes drops, Sweet Tooth is sure to skyrocket to the peak of the top 10.

Workin’ Moms season 7

Skip! The fan-favorite comedy series Workin’ Moms returns for its seventh and final season on Netflix. Although Workin’ Moms season 7 already completed its run in Canada between January and March, the final 13 episodes won’t arrive on Netflix until April 26. Avoid seeing spoilers from the series finale online until you get to see if for yourself on Netflix!
