Romantic Killer season 2: Will there be another season on Netflix?

Netflix released Romantic Killer in October 2022, and there’s no arguing that it was one of the best anime series to be released that year. Since it’s been quite some time since it came out, tons of people have already watched the entire first season. Now, everyone’s wondering if there will be a second installment. Romantic Killer is a Netflix original series adapted from the popular Japanese manga of the same name by Wataru Momose.

It follows a young teen girl named Anzu Hoshino, who has no interest in romance, unlike most teenage girls. Instead, she’d rather spend her time eating chocolate, playing with her cat, and playing video games. But her life turns completely upside down when a magical match-making wizard named Riri suddenly emerges from her TV screen and forces her to partake in a dating sim reality where she must find love with one of the “ikemen” men brought into her life. And the worst part for Anzu is that she has to live without her three most favorite things while in the altered reality: chocolate, her cat, and her video games.

The amazing voice cast includes Rie Takahashi, Mikako Komatsu, Yuichiro Umehara, Gakuto Kajiwara, Natsuki Hanae, Kenjiro Tsuda, Manaka Iwami, Hiro Shimono, and others.

Is Romantic Killer season 2 happening?

As of March 23, 2023, Netflix has yet to announce whether there will be a second season. It’s been about five months since the first season was released, and we still have no updates on the show’s fate. Although this is sad news, we’re still holding hope that Netflix will renew Romantic Killer for a second season.

Netflix anime do not always get renewed right away. Sometimes, it takes a long time before the streaming giant makes a decision and announces it to the world. So don’t give up just yet! I mean, it appears viewers and critics alike enjoyed the first season, so I can’t see Netflix passing on a second season.

Also, the first season ends in a way that sets up a second season. Anzu finds out that if she doesn’t find romance by the end of the school semester, her three favorite things will be taken away forever. And with Tsukasa realizing that he has feelings for Anzu, and Riri/Rio now a love interest, it looks Anzu will have three guys (Tsukasa, Junta, and Rio) vying for her love. And we can’t forget the last scene of the season 1 finale when Kate the wizard finds out her new assignment involves Yukana. Will Yukana have a chance at finding love?

There’s so much that can be explored in a potential Romantic Killer season 2. We just need Netflix to give the green light.
