Top Gun: Maverick is officially one of the most popular and best movies of 2022. The movie is nominated for six Oscars at the 95th Annual Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Tom Cruise is back as one of his most beloved cinematic characters, Maverick, in the very-long-awaited sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun. The highly anticipated follow-up is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, and Netflix’s Spiderhead. The film is dedicated to the late director Tony Scott who helmed the original feature.

Cruise reprises his role as Pete Mitchell, who for more than thirty years has dodged promotions that would ground him and is having the time of his life as a courageous test pilot. But he must confront his past when he is tasked with training a new class of pilots for a mission that will require the ultimate sacrifice.

Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and Monica Barbaro also star in Top Gun: Maverick.

Is Top Gun: Maverick on Netflix?

Unfortunately, Top Gun: Maverick is not streaming on Netflix right now. It’s unclear if Netflix will ever have the rights to stream Top Gun: Maverick, but it’s definitely not going to happen for a while.

Obviously, that’s a big bummer because Top Gun; Maverick is one of the best movies of 2022. And, Netflix has the first movie, Top Gun, available to stream right now. It’d be great if fans could watch both movies on the same streaming service. For now, you can watch Top Gun on Netflix and then head on over to another streaming service for the sequel.
