Spoilers from You season 4 part 1 ahead.

How many parts are in You season 4?

For the first time for this show, Netflix decided to release the fourth season in parts. Fortunately, there are only two parts, and the gap between the release of each one is not that far apart.

When does You season 4 part 2 come out?

You season 4 part 1 was released on Feb. 9. The second and final part will be released on Thursday, March 9, a month later.

What time is You season 4 part 2 coming out?

You can expect part 2 to drop at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on March 9. But if you’re in the Central time zone, you’re looking at a release time of 2:00 a.m. CT on its release date.

What is You season 4 part 1 about?

Remember when we said the third season ends with Joe in Paris? Well, he doesn’t stay in the city of love for long because the fourth season takes place mainly in London, England. Joe relocates to London and is now going by a new identity. He goes by Jonathan Moore and works as a professor at a university. He sees this as an opportunity to start fresh with a clean slate. But, of course, his dark past doesn’t stay hidden for long.

While trying to prove to Marienne that he’s a changed man, Joe finds himself involved with a friend group of privileged socialites who begin dropping like flies by the hands of a mystery killer. And to top it all off, Joe starts receiving creepy texts from an anonymous texter who’s been stalking him and knows of his past. Unfortunately for Joe, he just can’t seem to shake off his past, no matter how hard he tries.

You season 4 part 1 ending explained

Part 1 ends with the Eat The Rich Killer/anonymous texter being revealed to be Rhys Montrose and Joe vowing to take him down. After Roald chases Joe through the woods, they tussle on the ground for a little while before Joe gets the upper hand and knocks Roald unconscious. Afterward, Joe falls to the ground beside Roald to catch his breath. At this moment, Joe believes Roald is the killer.

Then, Joe hears someone approaching him and sees that the person is Rhys. Joe now knows that Rhys is the actual killer. Rhys knocks Joe out with a gun and then Joe wakes up in the soundproof basement of Phoebe’s country house. He notices he’s chained up along with an unconscious Roald. Joe and Rhys talk about Rhys being the killer and his motive before Rhys leaves Joe and Roald in a now-burning basement.

Joe breaks the chains on his wrist and then helps Roald out of his before they both run to an opening in the ceiling and yell for help. Kate shows up, opens the latch, and helps them out of the basement.

Here are some other things that happen in the part 1 finale:

  • Joe and Kate do not end up together because Joe knows that if they get together, Kate will eventually want to know more about him, including his dark past.
  • Phoebe and Adam break up after Phoebe realizes that Adam doesn’t see them as equals in their relationship.
  • Rhys announces his run for mayor.

Here are the character deaths in part 1:

  • Malcolm
  • Simon
  • Vic
  • Gemma

Will there be a You season 5?

As of March 7, Netflix has not announced its plans for the show’s future. However, You is a pretty popular series, so our guess is that it’ll be renewed soon. Who knows, the streaming giant might renew the show for a fifth season ahead of part 2’s premiere. We saw this happen with the fourth season. Netflix had renewed the show for a fourth season before the third season even premiered.

However, Netflix could wait to tally up the total viewing hours for You season 4 before making a decision. This means we could be waiting for a month or so after part 2’s release before the streamer announces whether it wants to renew or cancel the show.

We’ll keep you updated on You‘s renewal status, so stay tuned!

Be sure to check out You season 4 part 2, arriving on Netflix on March 9!
