Is Sex/Life season 2 the final season? (it sure felt like it!)
By Mads Lennon
Was the Sex/Life season 2 finale designed as a series finale? It certainly felt like it. Here’s what we know about the possibility of Sex/Life season 3. Sex/Life season 2 premiered on March 2, 2023, after more than a year since the first season debuted back in 2021. Does it have a future on Netflix?
Created by Stacy Rukeyser and inspired by the novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men by BB Easton, this steamy romantic drama starring Sarah Shahi, Mike Vogel, and Adam Demos has become a very popular Netflix series. But with only six episodes in its second season and a finale that feels very final, viewers are wondering if the show has reached its end.
In this day and age, it’s very hard to predict what will happen to your television shows. Netflix cancels its original series often and sometimes leaves other shows in limbo for years at a time. Even outside of Netflix, the whole television landscape is in flux, so it’s a good thing that some showrunners appear to be planning for the worst and writing legitimate endings.
The Sex/Life season 2 finale felt like a series finale
Sex/Life season 2 has a real ending. The final episode of the season feels like a series finale. All of the characters get a proper send-off, and without spoiling too much, the main characters get happy endings. It felt like a fairytale where everyone goes off to live happily ever after.
The writers were clearly writing toward an ending that would leave these characters in a good place if season 2 is the last season of Sex/Life. However, nothing has been confirmed either way just yet.
Will there be a Sex/Life season 3?
Netflix has not officially canceled or renewed Sex/Life, so the status of Sex/Life season 3 is currently unknown. Personally, I don’t think the show needs a third season because the season 2 finale wrapped up all of the storylines and gave everyone a nice ending. It felt very much like it was created as a series finale.
