Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 6 release updates, cast, and more

Drivers and their teams are about halfway through the 2023 Formula One World Championships, and we have some updates on Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 6. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing the season any time soon, but we have a good idea when to expect the new season.

F1 fans will be happy to hear that Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 5 is now available to stream on Netflix. The docuseries offers an intimate look into the world of F1 drivers, managers, engineers, and much more. What you thought you knew will be nothing compared to what you’ll learn.

Of course, the growing popularity of Formula 1 in the U.S. means that more people want to learn about things that go on. That means people want more of Drive to Survive, and there is some great news. Netflix confirmed the sixth season at the same time as the fifth season. Now all we need is to see when it will air.

Is Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 6 happening?

Yes, Netflix renewed the series for two seasons following season 4. We’re sure the crew and creative team is following the circuit all over the world right now, and we’re just waiting to see what the end product is going to look like.

Has Netflix announced the Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 6 release date?

As of right now, the new season’s release date has not been confirmed. That’s not surprising when you consider the fifth season has only just dropped in February 2023.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 6 covers the 2023 Formula One World Championships, which run from March 5 to Nov. 26, 2023. So, we definitely won’t see the new season before Nov. 26, and it’s pretty clear that we won’t see the new season in 2023. There’s just not enough time to put the season together and release it on Netflix with the final race happening so late in November.

New seasons of Drive to Survive usually drop around the start of the new F1 seasons. The 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship begins on March 2, 2024, so we’ll likely see the new season of the series in February or March of 2024.

The cast is made up of the drivers, managers, engineers, and others working in the pit crew. So, the exact cast will depend on whoever makes it through for the 2023 season.

Right now, there are five seasons available to stream in full on Netflix. This sixth one is confirmed, but there is nothing confirmed after that. Of course, that doesn’t mean another season won’t happen. With the growing popularity of the sport and the popularity of the series, we’re sure to see another inside look at this form of racing.

There isn’t anything that will really change from the previous seasons. The whole reason people tune in is to see the inside of racing. This is more than just hearing the radio communications while drivers are going around the track. It’s all about seeing how the pit crew works together, the strategy to win, and more.

As mentioned, the series follows the drivers and their teams through the 2023 Formula One World Championships, so we’ll see the drivers prepare, race, and do it all over again starting with the Bahrain Grand Prix to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final race of the year.

Is Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 7 happening?

As of July 2023, we have not seen Netflix renew Drive to Survive for season 7 yet. It’s possible that there could be plans in place, and it’s also possible that there is plenty of time to make those plans. We’ve seen Netflix veer into sports documentary programming more recently, and Drive to Survive has been such a success. We would not be surprised if Netflix announced the season 7 renewal soon.
