A new coming-of-age film has been released, and we are talking about Bruiser. This is one movie that definitely needs to be added to your watch list! Is is streaming on Netflix though?

Miles Warren takes charge behind the camera in his feature debut. The drama stars Jalyn Hall as Darious, Shamier Anderson as Malcolm, Trevante Rhodes as Porter, and Shinelle Azoroh as Monica.

The film was first released at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022. And since then, we’ve been waiting for the production to either have a theatrical or streaming release. And now, the day is here! Where can you watch the film? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Is the movie Bruiser on Netflix?

While Netflix has great streaming options, unfortunately Bruiser is not one of the projects on the platform. Following the movie’s premiere at the film festival, Onyx Collective announced it would be acquiring the rights to the production.

The brand mainly includes projects from creators who are people of color, as well as other underrepresented groups. Onyx Collective is owned by Disney Entertainment, which of course also owns Hulu. So, if you want to watch Bruiser, you will need a Hulu subscription.

The film is centered around 14-year-old Darious (Hall) who is learning what it is to grow up and be a man. Those lessons come from his strict but loving father Malcolm (Anderson) and a “charismatic drifter” named Porter (Rhodes). Spoiler alert (and the trailer pretty much hints to this), Porter is actually the young teen’s biological father. When he learns the truth, Darious has to balance which father figure he should listen to.

What do you think about the film? Will you be watching it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Bruiser is now streaming on Hulu.
