When Outer Banks season 2 came to a close, it did so by dropping a major bombshell on audiences — one no one saw coming.

In the closing scene of the season, the action moves to Barbados, where we catch up with Carla Limbrey as she exits a cab with an envelope with the Royal Merchant emblem on it in hand. As she makes her way to the shack, she asks a man how “he” is to which he informs her this mystery “he” has been “half-dead for a long time.

As Limbrey enters the shack, he tells our mystery figure, “You wrote to me about the shroud,” which is when we hear a man reply back “I know where it is. I can help you.” As the camera pans to the mystery man, it’s revealed that the mystery figure Limbrey has gone to see if none other than John B’s presumed dead dad, Big John Routledge.

Needless to say, the introduction of Big John in the season 2 finale left fans shaken and eager for answers which come quickly in the new season of Outer Banks.
