No matter where you look these days, something’s getting canceled. The levee broke and all at once, a lot of networks and streamers found a shocking number of shows on the chopping block and cut altogether. Chief among them, a handful of Netflix cancellations have inspired ire among fans.

Of course, cancellations aren’t new. Shows have been getting canceled at inconvenient times in the midst of their storytelling since the dawn of television. But that doesn’t help soothe any frustrations over the most recent — and WORST — Netflix cancellations.

Fan-favorite shows that weren’t able to topple the top tentpoles like Stranger Things fell through the cracks in spite of loud online fandoms. Being so, the brutal Netflix cancellations of Warrior Nun, Fate: The Winx Saga, and so many more hurt like hell.

Worst Netflix cancellations of the past year

Below we’re listing Netflix’s worst cancellations of the past year, beginning below with the beloved series fans haven’t stopped fighting for, Warrior Nun.

Warrior Nun

When Netflix’s decision to cancel Warrior Nun after two seasons dropped in December 2022, the fan reaction to fight for their series was immediate and widespread. Although the viewership stats don’t necessarily stack up against the other popular Netflix shows that garner 100 million viewing hours and more per weekend, the fan demand for more Warrior Nun is there.

After the cancellations of fellow Netflix shows like First Kill, The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, and more, fans have rightfully called out the declining presence of LGBTQ+ young adult series on the streamer. While other factors surely figure into the streamer’s decisions, you can’t deny the abysmal precedent that has been set. Even TIME has reported on the show’s brutal demise.

Fate: The Winx Saga

Fate: The Winx Saga is another Netflix Original whose cancellation fans can’t stop talking about. The teen drama premiered in 2021 and aired two seasons before being canceled in November 2022. Showrunner Bryan Young announced the news on Instagram, and it was evident that the decision to end the show was not made by him. An exact reason for the cancellation hasn’t been provided, which stings especially considering the second season was received better by the first with fan reception.

If you head over to Twitter, you’ll see flocks of Fate: The Winx Saga fans begging networks to save the show. But as it’s been months now without any news, it’s sadly safe to say the series is probably done for good.
