As we get further into 2023, Virgin River fans are looking more and more forward to the fifth season of the beloved series. After all, we have babies to welcome, weddings to attend, and plenty more questions still to be answered! But that won’t stop us from wondering about the possibility of Virgin River season 6.

Although Netflix has become known for axing a lot of its original series as of late, there are a handful of its series you can always count on, and Virgin River has become one of those reliable originals. But will the show continue or be final seasoned this year?

If we were to bet, Netflix will be keeping Virgin River around for a few more seasons after season 5 — not just because we can’t bear to part with Mel, Jack, and all of these incredible characters. The series has become one of Netflix’s top performers.

And it looks like we aren’t the only ones hoping for some good news on the future of the series. Series star Alexandra Breckenridge recently shared her wishes for season 6. Below we’re diving into what our very own Mel Monroe said to Virgin River fans.

Has Virgin River season 6 been renewed yet?

In a new Cameo video shared with a Virgin River fan, Alexandra Breckenridge spoke a little bit about the impending release of Virgin River season 5 on Netflix, stating that she hasn’t been updated on its release date. But she also expressed her hope for a sixth season.

“Fingers crossed for season 6,” Breckenridge says at the end of the video. Netflix brass previously stated last year that they intended to keep the hit romantic drama series around for as long as fans are devoted, but it appears no official decisions have been made about its future.

The fifth season, which will hit Netflix later this year, was ordered along with the fourth season as part of a two-season renewal. Of course, that renewal included the 12-episode season 4 and the 12-episode season 5. Who knows, maybe history will repeat itself and Netflix will order 24 more episodes with another two-season renewal. One thing’s for sure, fans aren’t ready for this show to end.
