Best Netflix thrillers: The Guilty

Jake Gyllenhaal stars in this crime thriller written by True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto and directed by Training Day‘s Antoine Fuqua. A remake of the Danish film of the same name, The Guilty is a cutthroat movie that will hook you immediately and keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

If you never got around to watching this when it came out in 2021, now is as good a time as any! Gyllenhaal plays a demoted police officer who must man the 911 dispatch line. He finds himself in a perilous situation when he gets a phone call from a kidnapped woman and desperately tries to help her survive.

Best Netflix thrillers: Ozark

Once proclaimed to be Netflix’s own Breaking Bad, Ozark is an Emmy Award-winning crime thriller starring Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Julia Garner, and more. What started out as an underrated series has quickly become one of Netflix’s most popular series.

However, there are still plenty of people who have missed out on the show, as it’s somewhat under the radar despite receiving multiple Emmy nominations and wins at this point. Ozark follows the Byrde family after financial planner Marty Byrde (Bateman) gets in over his head with a money laundering scheme. He relocates his family to the Ozarks, where they get involved even deeper in criminal dealings.
