Whether you’re tuning into the Super Bowl in 2023 because you’re a fan of either of the teams, you like the commercials, or you’re looking forward to Rihanna’s return to the stage, the big game will be inescapable. But Netflix shows will always be there for counter-programming.

Admittedly, the Super Bowl isn’t for everyone, and considering a lot of the annually anticipated commercials were released days in advance of the Sunday game, those who aren’t interested in joining their friends and families Super Bowl parties will want something else to watch.

Thankfully, there are plenty of incredible Netflix shows to either watch for the first time, catch up on, or just watch again for the fun of it. Who said you can’t sneak in a few episodes of a Netflix show before the buffet spread is ready and the halftime show begins?

Outer Banks

The countdown to the release of Outer Banks season 3 is officially on! As of Super Bowl Sunday, there will be 11 days left until the highly anticipated release. The teen adventure series last dropped a new season on Netflix in July 2022, and fans have been waiting impatiently to see what happens next for the Pogues as they call a desert island their new home.

Outer Banks season 3 promises the same level of, if not more, action than the previous two seasons as the treasure hunt heats up to new heights. There are higher stakes and scarier villains for John B and his friends to contend with in the run up to putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Relive all the best moments with a season 1 and 2 rewatch!

You

Have you been missing Joe Goldberg? Well, you’re in luck! He’s back in You season 4 part 1, which finds the central character assuming a new identity in a new locale across the pond. Now going by Jonathan Moore, a professor in England, the first part of the season finds Joe contending with the Eat-the-Rich Killer and a host of unique characters. Check out the first part before the second arrives in March.
