Stranger Things season 4 came out less than a year ago but given how insanely popular the show is, it’s not surprising that fans are salivating for any details on the show’s upcoming fifth and final season. We need to know when Stranger Things season 5 is coming!

All we know at the moment is that the fifth season will begin filming later this year and we probably won’t see it premiere on Netflix until 2024 at the earliest. Here’s hoping it doesn’t get pushed back even farther than that, but seeing as it’s Netflix’s biggest show, everyone also wants to ensure that the Duffer Brothers get the final season done right.

Still, with the Super Bowl coming up, the only thing people are talking about more than the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Philadelphia Eagles is what trailers and commercials we can expect to see during the ad breaks. Could a teaser for Stranger Things season 5 be among them?

Will there be a Stranger Things season 5 trailer at Super Bowl 2023?

Unfortunately, no, it seems highly unlikely that we’ll get anything new from Stranger Things season 5 at the Super Bowl 2023. Filming has not started on the final season yet. According to show star Noah Schnapp, it won’t get going until May 2023.

We definitely won’t have a release date yet. If there is anything shared for Stranger Things season 5, it will likely be a very brief promo or teaser announcing that the fifth season is coming, but even that seems unlikely.

Watch Will Ferrell Stranger Things Super Bowl 2023 commercial

Even though we’re probably not going to get any new Stranger Things content, that doesn’t mean the Super Bowl 2023 will be completely devoid of all things Stranger Things. Netflix partnered with GM on a Super Bowl 2023 commercial that drops Will Ferrell into several popular Netflix shows and movies, including Bridgerton, Stranger Things, Army of the Dead, Squid Game, and more.

Multiple stars from the shows are also featured. You can watch the commercial early on Netflix’s TUDUM site where you’ll see Ferrell dressed as Dustin (and a cameo appearance from Erica herself, Priah Ferguson!).
