Wednesday

When Wednesday premiered on Netflix in November 2022, it was a huge success for the streaming giant. In fact, it holds the title of the second most-watched English-language Netflix series of all time.

The show was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and follows Wednesday Addams earlier years as a student at Nevermore Academy. After Wednesday is expelled from her old school, her parents send her to their high school alma mater so that she can be with people like her. But while attempting to master her newfound psychic abilities, she’s faced with stopping a monstrous killing spree and solving a murder mystery.

If you weren’t already a fan of the insanely talented actress Jenna Ortega, I’m sure you became a fan after watching her portrayal of the iconic character Wednesday Addams. She, along with the rest of the gifted cast, gave incredible performances in the teen fantasy series.

This is why fans can’t wait to see a Wednesday season 2. But unfortunately, the chances of the second season coming out in 2023 are slim to none. The show was just renewed in January 2023, and even if production gets started soon, we doubt the filmmaking process will be finished in time to make a 2023 release. It took six months of production and eight months of post-production before the first season made its way to Netflix. If it takes this long for season 2, we most likely won’t see Wednesday season 2 until 2024. Maybe we can see the second season in late 2023, but we’re not betting on it.

The Sandman

The Sandman was one of the highly anticipated Netflix shows in 2022. The first season was released on Netflix in August 2022 and tons of people tuned in to watch the fantasy series. Critics and viewers alike enjoyed the show which isn’t usually common.

Fans had to wait three months for the streamer to announce the show’s renewal, but the renewal was different than what everyone was expecting. Netflix didn’t announce a season 2 renewal, but instead, that new episodes would be coming soon. How soon? That’s what we’re trying to figure out. As of Feb. 9, production on the new episodes has not started yet, but the cameras will most likely start rolling sometime this year.

Like Stranger ThingsThe Sandman is a special effects-heavy show. So, the production and post-production stages will be pretty lengthy which would make a 2023 release basically impossible. However, if Netflix chooses to release the episodes in batches, there’s a chance the first set could be released by the end of 2023. We’ll just have to wait and see. But for now, we believe new episodes of The Sandman will come out sometime in 2024.
