Cobra Kai season 6 release: When could the final season arrive?

Cobra Kai is going out with a big bang with its sixth and final season. Series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg confirmed the show will end with season 6 in January 2023. But when can we expect Cobra Kai season 6 to finally land on Netflix?

The last time we saw new episodes of Cobra Kai was in September 2022, which wasn’t too long ago. Unlike other Netflix shows, the time between seasons of Cobra Kai isn’t usually that significant. We’ve had at least one season per year since 2018 (except 2020), and in 2021 fans were even gifted with two full seasons!

Even though it’s unfortunate that the show is ending, a six-season run is nothing to stick your nose up at, especially in this day and age when the state of streaming is in total chaos. Below we’ll fill you in on what we know about Cobra Kai season 6, and its potential release date.

When could Cobra Kai season 6 arrive on Netflix?

According to Deadline, the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai is scheduled to go into production in the late spring, meaning that filming likely won’t get underway until at least the second half of May, or maybe even early June.

On the plus side, Cobra Kai does not take as long to film as other Netflix Original series. Cobra Kai produces short episodes and doesn’t require heavy VFX. Previous seasons have only taken a couple of months to finish filming. Post-production then takes an additional few weeks.

However, Cobra Kai season 6 has been touted as the “biggest and baddest” season, meaning there might be more stunts, longer episodes, or grander fight sequences that could result in a longer post-production period. Either way, it seems unlikely we will see the sixth season in 2023, but a December release date isn’t totally out of the question.

The odds are that Cobra Kai season 6 will premiere sometime between December 2023 and February 2024. Most sites seem to agree that Netflix will likely release the series in early 2024, so we’ve still got a while to wait before we get to see new episodes.
