Matthew McConaughey to voice Elvis Presley in new series (watch the first teaser!)

Everybody, let’s rock! Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is lending his voice to Netflix’s new adult animation series, Agent Elvis, to play the iconic singer and actor.

The action comedy is co-created and executive produced by Priscilla Presley and John Eddie. Priscilla is the late star’s ex-wife. The two were married for four years before they divorced in October 1973. The couple share one daughter, Lisa Marie, who unfortunately passed in January 2023 at 54 from cardiac arrest.

The upcoming series features Elvis Presley as a famous performer during the day, and vigilante by night. Mike Arnold shares showrunner duties with John Eddie, with McConaughey, Kevin Noel, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, Ben Kalina, Jamie Salter, Corey Salter, and Marc Rosen taking on executive producer duties.

When will Agent Elvis start streaming?

As of Feb. 6, 2023, Netflix has not shared an exact release date yet. However, the streamer did confirm the new adult animation is coming in March 2023. So it’s not long until the series is added to the Netflix library! The company hasn’t announced how many episodes to expect yet either.

What is Agent Elvis starring Matthew McConaughey about?

The King of Rock and Roll is still going to do what he does best – be the iconic performer that he is. But at the same time, Elvis Presley will also be working with a secret government spy program, “TCB,” to “battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves,” per the synopsis.

From his iconic outfits like the white jumpsuit, to a jet pack for his action-filled adventures, we’re going to see the cultural icon in a way we never have before!
