There have been several talking animals in movies that people all around love and adore, and the next title looking to gain the same traction is Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. The reptile, filled with lots of lyrical greatness, will offer fans a unique experience, and many Netflix subscribers are presumably wondering if they can watch the musical comedy.

Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is based on the children’s book of the same name as well as its precursor title in the series, The House on East 88th Street. The fun-filled flick follows the Primm family, who move to New York only to have their young son Josh find it difficult to acclimate to his new neighborhood and surroundings. But luckily, he meets Lyle, the singing crocodile, and together they form a bond that overcomes all of their struggles.

The feature stars Constance Wu, Javier Bardem, and Scoot McNairy. Singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes provides the voice of the titular crocodile and sings all the toe-tapping tunes Lyle belts out throughout the film’s 106-minute runtime.

The film is directed by the filmmaking duo Will Speck and Josh Gordon, known for Blades of Glory, Office Christmas Party, and Hit-Monkey. The screenplay was penned by William Davies, whose credits include Puss in Boots and Man Vs. Bee. But is it on the streaming powerhouse?

Is Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile available on Netflix?

Yes! Beginning on Saturday, Feb. 4, the hit animated movie will be available to stream on Netflix. Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile will begin streaming on Netflix at 12 a.m. PT and 3 a.m. ET. That’s a little late for the family to stay up to watch the movie, so make sure to tune in the next day!

Because of Netflix’s deal with Sony, subscribers have been waiting for their chance to watch Shawn Mendes perform as the titular crocodile in the movie. Fortunately, that’s finally happening in February 2023. However, the movie won’t be available on Netflix forever.

Some additional titles that the whole family can check out together after watching Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile include Over the Moon, Vivo, and Sing 2. Mendes also has a documentary and concert special available to stream on Netflix.
