Which On My Block characters are in Freeridge?

Freeridge is now streaming on Netflix, and we’re seeing a lot of questions swirling around the internet about the new teen series. Specifically, people are wondering which On My Block characters appear in the spinoff. Luckily, you’ve arrived at the right place if you’re looking for the answer.

Is Abuelita in Freeridge?

No. As we mentioned earlier, Peggy Blow portrays a new character in the spinoff. However, her new character is related to Abuelita in some way. Truthfully, the only way Abuelita would’ve been able to return is if she appeared as a ghost or in flashbacks because she died in the final season of On My Block. However, she doesn’t appear at all.

Is Geny Martinez in Freeridge?

Yes, Geny is in the spinoff series. If you recall, she is the caring mother of Ruby Martinez from the original series. She appears in several episodes of the spinoff, and you’ll enjoy every scene she’s in. In addition, Geny is played by Paula Garcés. Paula was one of the original cast members announced to be reprising her role in the spinoff.

Is Ruben Martinez in Freeridge?

Yes, Ruben also returns in the spinoff. He’s Geny’s husband and Ruby’s father. Actually, Ruben and Geny appear together in all the same scenes in the new teen series. He’s played by Eric Gutierrez, who was also one of the original cast members announced to be coming back for the spinoff.

Is Jamal in Freeridge?
