There are some mixed feelings about The Witcher season 3 at this point. That doesn’t stop us from wanting to see the episodes, though.

The Witcher: Blood Origin wasn’t quite what we hoped for. Then we have the news that Henry Cavill is not returning to The Witcher after season 3, despite the series being renewed. Things aren’t looking good for the franchise as a whole, and it leaves many of us a little apprehensive about the new season.

However, we want to see the new episodes. As a Henry Cavill fan, I want to support him in this last season, and that means looking out for when the new episodes will drop on Netflix. That’s not going to be just yet. I double-checked the list of releases in February just in case, but the show isn’t on there.

Of course, I didn’t expect to see it. Netflix has already given us a season for when the show will come out.

The Witcher season 3 release date updates (February 2023)

We’re expecting the episodes in summer 2023. When showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich spoke to Collider, she mentioned that there were “eight-ish” months to go. That would suggest an August or early September release date, then. That’s all we have to go with right now.

There are rumors that the season will be split in two. Hissrich doesn’t want that to be the case, but she does want to make sure all episodes are good quality. If that means releasing half the season in the summer and half the season in the winter, so be it.

The Witcher season 4 is confirmed and is in the writing stages right now. Redanian Intelligence says that there are plans for a fifth season and production is supposed to happen back-to-back for both the new seasons. Netflix hasn’t confirmed a fifth season yet, though. The streamer may want to see how fans take to Liam Hemsworth in the lead role first.

The Witcher is available to stream on Netflix.
