Pamela, a love story: Are Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee still friends?

After years of having her life splashed across the covers of tabloids, Pamela Anderson finally has the opportunity to tell her full story in the Netflix documentary Pamela, a love story and her companion memoir Love, Pamela, both released on Jan. 31.

In the documentary, Anderson opens up about all the things the world may not have ever known about her. From her days as a small town kid from Ladysmith, British Columbia, to the formative experiences that colored her perspective to the path to Playboy and Baywatch stardom, it’s all touched upon in the movie.

Obviously, one of the most sensationalized aspects of Pamela Anderson’s life and career in the spotlight has to do with her relationship history. She’s been married five times, but her most talked about relationship has to be with first husband Tommy Lee. After all, their relationship was turned into a Hulu limited series — one that Anderson doesn’t support.

But now that years have separated Anderson and Lee from their tumultuous relationship, have the parents of sons Brandon and Dylan reconciled and become friends? Here’s what we know about the status of their relationship and friendship as of 2023.

While Anderson and Lee may not be the best of friends, the exes appear to be on a good terms. Anderson spoke to Variety recently and expressed how hurt she was by the release of Hulu’s Pam & Tommy. Upon the limited series’ release, Lee sent her a supportive note: “Don’t let this hurt you like it did the first time.”

Anderson also sat down for a chat with Howard Stern to promote her documentary and memoir, and Stern asked about the status of her relationship with her ex-husband. She reiterated that they still check in from time to time, since they share two children together.

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee married in 1995 and had two sons together: Brandon Thomas Lee (born 1996) and Dylan Jagger Lee (born 1997). Anderson first filed for divorce from Lee in 1996, but the couple reconciled. They ultimately divorced in 1998 after Lee spent six months in jail for spousal abuse.

The couple allegedly got back together by 1999 and had an on-again, off-again relationship throughout the 2000s. By the 2010s, they had seemingly split for good. Although Anderson has called Lee the “love of her life,” Lee married Brittany Furlan in 2019. Again, they may not be best friends or in a relationship, but they are in good terms in 2023.
