4 Netflix shows that will probably be final seasoned in 2023

We’re ready to see some of our favorite Netflix shows return this year. However, it’s a bittersweet feeling because many of the shows have already reached their fourth season or above. This makes us nervous because this is when Netflix typically starts handing out final seasons. So, to prepare ourselves for the inevitable, we compiled a list of some Netflix shows we believe will probably be final seasoned in 2023.

This year, we’ll see popular Netflix originals come back with new seasons, such as You season 4, Outer Banks season 3, Shadow and Bone season 2, The Witcher season 3, Bridgerton season 3 and many others.

While some of these shows have already been renewed for additional seasons, other shows’ fates are still up in the air. However, we do have an idea of which Netflix shows are more likely to be renewed this year. We just don’t know for certain if their next season will be their last.

You is definitely on my list of the top 5 Netflix series of all time. I drop everything I’m doing to binge-watch a new season whenever one comes out. It’s seriously that good! However, I can’t help but think about the show’s fate after You season 4 wraps up in March. Netflix usually gives its series up to four seasons if it doesn’t cancel them early.

Although You has already made it to this number and Netflix hasn’t final seasoned it yet, this doesn’t mean that the show is safe. As much as I would love to see many more seasons of the thriller series, I believe Netflix will renew You for a fifth and final season sometime this year.

Honestly, a fifth season should be all the show needs to wrap up Joe’s story. He’s been all across the world committing heinous crimes. How much longer can he keep getting away with murder?

Virgin River

Virgin River has made it past the typical number of seasons the streaming giant gives its shows too. A fifth season is expected to come out in the spring or summer of 2023. But will Netflix renew the romantic drama for a sixth season? The show has seen much success with every new season released, so my guess is that the streaming giant will renew Virgin River for a sixth season. But it may be the show’s last.

However, there might be a chance of the show continuing past a sixth season. In an interview with Deadline, Netflix’s head of drama mentioned that if people keep tuning in, she could see Virgin River going on for many seasons. So, if you want to see more Virgin River, stream the fifth season when it comes out and tell everyone you know about it.

Emily in Paris

Another Netflix show that will probably be renewed for one last season in 2023 is Emily in Paris. And I will not be okay with this decision if it actually happens. The reason I believe Emily in Paris will end with a fifth season is because I’m not sure how much more story can be told.

We’ve already watched three seasons of Emily Cooper juggling work, friends, and romance in Paris. Yes, the third season ends on a shocking cliffhanger that sets up the fourth season, but I believe things can be wrapped up by the end of the fourth season or in a potential fifth season. I mean, I would love to see more of Emily and Co in additional seasons, but I’m trying to be realistic here. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Netflix decides.

Big Mouth

Big Mouth is Netflix’s most popular adult animated series, so it comes as no surprise that it has made it to six seasons with a seventh season on the way. Adult animation series on Netflix have never made it this far. It’s truly an impressive accomplishment. However, I think this show has reached its limit. Also, there’s a spinoff series that Netflix can start focusing more on.

But since Big Mouth is a very successful show, Netflix may continue to milk it for all it’s worth. The streaming giant might renew Big Mouth for an additional season without making it its final season. However, if the eighth season doesn’t end up being the show’s last, I believe the ninth season will end the series.
