Will the indie horror film Skinamarink be on Netflix?

Indie horror film Skinamarink is the latest viral horror sensation taking the internet by storm. Will you be able to watch the buzzy new movie on Netflix?

Made for just $15,000, Skinamarink is one of the latest breakout horror movies to attract attention due to its haunting and experimental premise. The movie has received a significant amount of buzz from the festival circuit. On the heels of other successful, smaller horror films like Smile and Terrifier 2, it seems right now is the optimal time for these indie films to find larger audiences.

Written, produced, and directed by Kyle Edward Ball, Skinamarink centers on two children who wake up one night to discover their father is gone and all the windows and doors in their house have vanished.

Will Skinamarink be on Netflix?

There are currently no plans for Skinamarink to stream on Netflix. IFC Midnight snagged the movie’s distribution rights after receiving great feedback at several film festivals.

Where to watch Skinamarink

For now, the only way to watch Skinamarink is to see if it is playing in a theater near you. The small indie film received a limited theatrical release from IFC Midnight and has already crossed $1 million at the box office. Due to its success, IFC expanded the movie’s release to an additional 800 theaters. But even if it isn’t out in your area, the film is coming to Shudder very soon!

Per Fangoria, Skinamarink will be coming to Shudder on Feb. 2, 2023. Given the movie has already been thriving from word-of-mouth, I think it will become even more popular when it is widely available to stream.
