By Reed Gaudens
Getting into the second month of the year, 2023 already seems like a great year for Netflix shows. We’ve already been spoiled by the likes of Vikings: Valhalla season 2 and That ’90s Show, and February will keep the binge-worthy blessings coming.
Throughout February 2023, a number of new release Netflix shows will give us all something to talk about. In particular, two of the most popular Netflix original series of all time return with high-anticipated new seasons, and of course we’re talking about You and Outer Banks.
But are you wondering what else is worth checking out in February 2023? There’s a lot of new release movies and shows coming in the shortest month of the year, and we’re helping you decide what should be at the top of your list and what should probably wait.
Best Netflix shows February 2023
Here are the best Netflix shows to watch in February 2023, and a few shows that you can keep off your watch list for now. Let’s begin with the biggest show of the month, You season 4 part 1.
You season 4 part 1
Watch! Joe Goldberg is back, and he’s bringing his reign of hell to a new locale under a new alias. Meet Professor Jonathan Moore, who’s now across the pond in London. Surely, Joe will once again get up to no good in You season 4 part 1, which drops on Thursday, Feb. 9. (The second half of the series premieres one month later on March 9.)
Outer Banks season 3
Watch! Get ready to book a mandatory trip to Poguelandia with our favorite group of treasure hunting teenagers. Outer Banks season 3 reunites viewers with the Pogues and embarks on their latest high stakes battle against the Kooks and whoever else stands in their way. The adventure begins when 10 all-new episodes premiere on Thursday, Feb. 23.
Gunther’s Millions
Skip! You might already be exhausted on true crime documentary series this early into the year, and that’s totally fine. Netflix unleashes another four-part docuseries in February called Gunther’s Millions, which tells the story of a wealthy German shepherd and his connection to a major tax fraud case. Check it out (or don’t) when it drops on Feb. 1.
Freeridge
Watch! On My Block fans have been waiting patiently for the eagerly awaited spinoff, and it’s finally here. Freeridge premieres on Feb. 3, and it’s sure to satisfy all superfans of the critically acclaimed sire series. The coming-of-age series centers on a new core four and a curse hanging over their lives. Don’t miss a minute of Freeridge on Feb. 2.
My Dad the Bounty Hunter
Watch! The new Netflix children’s animated series My Dad the Bounty Hunter is just too cute to be missed. In the series, two kids are shocked by the revelation that their average dad is an intergalactic bounty hunter going on missions in space. My Dad the Bounty Hunter will be out of this world entertainment for the whole family on Feb. 9.
Full Swing
Skip! Apologies to sports fans, who will actually be tuning into every episode of the golf documentary series Full Swing. Netflix recently found success with the tennis documentary series Break Point and will next tackle golf. If you’re not a fan of the sport, or sports at all, Full Swing won’t be essential viewing when it makes its premiere on Feb. 15.
The Upshaws part 3
Watch! Needing a good laugh? You know you are, and The Upshaws are back with another new season to bring those much-needed laughs. More family dysfunction and hilarity is on the way in The Upshaws part 3, which premieres on Feb. 16. Even more good news: Netflix has already renewed the sitcom for another season!
Perfect Match
Watch! No, Perfect Match isn’t another tennis documentary series coming to Netflix. However, it is your potential new favorite reality series guilty pleasure. Netflix brings together single cast members from its reality shows like Too Hot to Handle, Love Is Blind, The Ultimatum, and more to find love in paradise. It’s the ultimate dating competition you don’t want to miss on Valentine’s Day.
Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal
Skip! Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal will definitely be at the top of the watch list for many true crime fans in February. However, if you’re faint of heart, the first-hand account of the double homicide and boating accident won’t be for you. Skip the three-part documentary series when it premieres on Feb. 22, but true crime fans should still tune in.
