Laura Prepon

Laura Prepon took on the role of Donna Pinciotti, who is Eric Forman’s girlfriend and also a former unrequited love interest for Steven Hyde. Despite being the girlfriend of the initial main character, she didn’t leave the show when Topher Grace did, creating new potential storylines for her.

While Jackie was considered the “air-head” of the group and took on the bratty cliche, Donna was the sound of mind. She was the feminist that wanted to be a woman in her own right and support herself. There’s an important line for the show that indicates how she viewed herself. When Kelso tells her that college is for “ugly girls,” she points out that “college is for women who don’t want to marry the first idiot they meet and squeeze out his [explicit] moron children.”

As for Prepon, she’s continued a successful career since leaving That ’70s Show. She’s taken on roles in all genres and all complexities, including one of the most troublesome movies based on real life, Karla, which also stars Supernatural‘s Misha Collins.

Straight after That ’70s Show, Prepon landed the role of Hannah Daniels in October Road and took on guest star spots in various other TV shows, including How I Met Your Mother. She was also in an episode of Men at Work with That ’70s Show co-star Danny Masterson.

From 2013 to 2019, Prepon starred in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. She’s lost her red hair for black, but she’s the reason Piper is in prison in the series. In 2017, she welcomed her first daughter with husband Ben Foster, and in 2020, the pair had a son.

Aside from acting, Prepon also published the wellness book The Stash Plan in 2016, which expanded into a website, homeware line called PrepOn Kitchen, and an instructional YouTube channel. Prepon will get back into acting in 2023 with a guest appearance as Donna in That ’90s Show.
