Facts about Wednesday

Wednesday shattered streaming records!

According to the streamer, fans watched over 1 billion hours of the show in the first month of its release, making it the second most successful English-language program in Netflix history, right behind Stranger Things.

Jenna Ortega showed up to her audition covered in fake blood

The actress revealed to WIRED that she was in the middle of filming the horror flick X when she took a call from Tim Burton:

"“I had stage blood and glycerin sweat in my hair and a massive cut on my face and had been up for over 24 hours. I got on Zoom and [Tim] actually laughed. It made me laugh. I thought it was endearing.”"

The Hyde monster was played by an actor, too

This might surprise you, but the Hyde monster was actually portrayed by a real stunt actor! Daniel Himschoot brought the terrifying monster to life by wearing both stilts and crutches to mimic the monster’s bone-chilling movements.

Emma Myers had to attend werewolf boot camp

To get in the right frame of mind for her character Enid Sinclair, the actress revealed to Seventeen that she had to attend a “werewolf boot camp.”

"“Me and a couple other guys crawling around on the floor growling at each other? That was weird. I’ll never forget that.”"

The blood shower scene took multiple takes

Despite being promised that the blood shower scene in episode 4 will be done in one take, complications arose and the scene was filmed several times resulting in the makeup team having to scrub off fake blood from the actors and replace all their wigs, the head makeup and hair designer Tara McDonald told BuzzFeed:

"“For the blood rain shower, it was promised that it would all be done in one take. Obviously, once that blood hits them and stains their skin, you can imagine how long it takes to get the blood out of [the actors’] hair and skin.”"

All episodes of Wednesday are streaming on Netflix.
