It’s been far over a month since Nov. 23, 2022, and for fans of the show Wednesday on Netflix, that was a very, very long time without any news about a potential second season. The teen phenomenon took the world by storm this fall, making rising star Jenna Ortega a household name overnight and breaking multiple records for the streaming service. If you haven’t heard of the show by now, you’ve definitely been living under a rock.

There’s had been a ton of speculation going on in the past few weeks regarding Wednesday‘s future, especially after a report from The Independent came out claiming Amazon Prime Video might snatch the show up because of their recent merger with MGM, the latter of which produced the Netflix series. However, we can all relax because we just got some awesome news about Wednesday.

Is Wednesday season 2 happening?

Yes! Soon after teasing a renewal, Netflix officially confirmed the news. Check out the short announcement video below:

Netflix took to Twitter on Thursday night to share a very interesting video hinting at the show’s fate. The clip, which you see below, shows a scene from Wednesday in which the titular character types: “The end?” The streamer added additional question marks in their caption, hinting at the fact that the story of Wednesday might not be over just yet.

Netflix renewing Wednesday in 2023 was something we heard would likely be the case. As we previously reported, Deadline claimed in December that the show returning for another season is “inevitable,” and apparently, the streamer was waiting until the new year to officially renew.
