Treason season 2 updates: Will there be another season on Netflix?

Even though the end of the year has brought a number of highly anticipated Netflix shows, such as Emily in Paris season 3 and Alice in Borderland season 2, there are more shows that will be released under the radar. For instance, the new spy thriller Treason.

Daredevil star Charlie Cox stars in Treason as Adam Lawrence, an MI6 agent whose life and career seem to be going according to plan. That is, until he’s confronted by his past thanks to a Russian spy named Kara (Olga Kurylenko). Suddenly, Adam’s caught in a tangled web between Kara and his wife, Maddy (Oona Chaplin).

Considering the success of Netflix’s fellow new spy thriller The Recruit, it’s safe to say that Treason could be another end-of-the-year dark horse. Marvel fans have surely been ready for more Charlie Cox, and though he’s not playing a superhero, it’s the next best thing.

But after watching the five-episode season, can viewers expect to see Treason season 2 coming to Netflix in the future? Here’s what we know so far about the fate of the new original drama series and what could be next for the spy thriller.

Will there be a Treason season 2 on Netflix?

Because Netflix has designated Treason as a limited series, it’s highly unlikely that Treason season 2 will happen. The five-episode first season appears to be intended as its complete run as a miniseries, and Netflix usually sticks to its limited series decisions.

Inventing Anna, Echoes, and Devil in Ohio were three successful Netflix limited series in 2022 that weren’t picked up for second seasons. Unless Treason becomes wildly popular and ends up an anthology series, these five episodes will be a singular, standalone series.
