Why Falling for Christmas is the best new Christmas movie

We’re going to be honest. In 2022, Netflix produced a few good movies, but most of them didn’t hit the mark. But still, that doesn’t mean the streamer didn’t deliver at all. One film we enjoyed this year is Falling for Christmas!

The production stars Lindsay Lohan as Sierra Belmont, Chord Overstreet as Jake, George Young as Tad, Jack Wagner as Beauregard Belmont, Olivia Perez as Avy, Chase Ramsey as Terry Carver, Sean J. Dillingham as Ralph, and Antonio D. Charity as Sheriff Borden.

The film is about spoiled hotel heiress Sierra Belmont who gets into a skiing accident right as she becomes engaged, resulting in amnesia that makes her forget her entire life. Caring lodge owner Jake finds her and offers to house her at his place of work, where he and his daughter also live, while she recovers in the days leading up to Christmas.

First, if you’re a big Lindsay Lohan fan, you know that the actress even starred in this film is a big deal! After personal challenges and stepping away from acting for years, the former child star returned to the profession she’s so good at, and we couldn’t be happier! I mean, The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and Mean Girls are just some of the mega hits she starred in. She totally nailed those roles!

With Christmas near, that means it’s time for those holiday movies. They’re a guilty pleasure for some, and others genuinely enjoy them. Unfortunately, you can often see the low budget, glaringly obvious cheesy plot lines, and cringe characters.

As far as holiday movies go, Falling for Christmas doesn’t fit that bill. Lohan truly shines and is so delightful to watch. Overstreet’s portrayal of the character is charming, and young actress Perez is so sweet and likable. Plus, the feel-good storyline and bits of comedy help lift your spirits. So if you haven’t given this film a chance, we recommend you do!
