Ginny and Georgia season 2 release date confirmed for January 2023 at Netflix

The day we’ve all been waiting on is finally here. Netflix has announced the official release date for Ginny and Georgia season 2! But that’s not all. The streamer also shared some first-look images and a scene from the new season. We shared all the important details below.

After production wrapped on Ginny and Georgia season 2 in April 2022, we had been patiently waiting for Netflix to announce the release date. Obviously, we were aware that the new episodes would have to go through post-production to be edited before we could see them. But we didn’t think it would take this long.

We thought post-production would last for about six to eight months, and then we’d see Ginny and Georgia back on our screens. But, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. However, it looks like the second season may have been ready for viewing, and Netflix just decided to hold it until early 2023. Our reason for saying this is because of a recent investor call with Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos. During the call, Sarandos listed different shows that would be coming out in the last quarter of 2022, and one of the Netflix originals he listed was Ginny and Georgia. This means the second season was either completely finished with post-production or was in the last stage.

Although we would’ve liked to end the year with a brand new season of the teen series, a January 2023 release isn’t too bad.

Ginny and Georgia season 2 release date

Get ready because Ginny and Georgia season 2 arrives on Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023! You can expect the complete 10-episode second season to make its way to the streamer at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on Jan. 5. In addition, each episode will be about 60 minutes long.

"How do you live with the knowledge that your mother is a murderer? That’s what Ginny is going to have to figure out. Burdened with the new understanding that Kenny – her step-dad – didn’t die of natural causes, now Ginny must deal with the fact that Georgia not only killed, she killed to protect Ginny. Georgia on the other hand would much prefer that the past be left in the past, after all, she’s got a wedding to plan! But the funny thing about Georgia’s past is that it never stays buried for long…"

In a clip from the new season, Georgia arrives home from celebrating her fiancé Paul’s reelection to find out that Ginny and Austin are missing and her wolfsbane plant (the plant she used to murder her ex-husband) has been burnt in the fireplace.
