Emily in Paris season 2 was one of the most anticipated Netflix shows of 2021, and it didn’t take long for fans to binge through the new episodes. Since then, the wait has been on for Emily in Paris season 3.

The second season premiered on Netflix on Dec. 22, just in time for viewers to reunite with the Emmy-nominated romantic-comedy series during the holiday break. Picking up in the love triangle cliffhanger from the season 1 finale, Emily in Paris season 2 throws Emily into the deep end both at work and in her personal relationships. The season finale perfectly sets up another season of soul-searching for the titular character.

Below we have shared everything we know so far about Emily in Paris season 3!

Will there be an Emily in Paris season 3?

On Jan. 10, Netflix announced that Emily in Paris season 3 was officially renewed. But that’s not all the good Emily news Netflix had to share. The streamer also announced Emily in Paris would be back for season 4.

Usually, Netflix announces renewals within a month of a show’s release, but lately, renewals have been varied. Netflix announced Emily in Paris season 3 (and 4!) less than one month after the season 2 premiere. Of course, the show’s future beyond the two-season renewal hasn’t been decided.

Emily in Paris season 3 release date

Since Emily in Paris season 2 premiered a little over one year after the series debut, it’s safe to assume that Emily in Paris season 3 will follow suit. We know that the third season is now filming and started in the beginning of June 2022. That means there is a good chance we’ll see the third season premiere in the first half of 2023.

Lily Collins and the rest of the cast appeared during the TUDUM fan event on Saturday, Sept. 24 to share some scoop on season 3. Thankfully, the cast revealed that the new season will be released on Dec. 21, 2022. Have a happy holiday with Emily!

Emily in Paris season 3 cast

Netflix has confirmed that Lucien Laviscount will return to play Alfie in the third season. Even better: Laviscount has been upped to a series regular, meaning he’ll have a full-time role in the new season.

Besides Laviscount, we can assume all of the main characters will be back for season 3. Here’s the season 2 main cast who we’re expecting will return:

  • Lily Collins as Emily Cooper
  • Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie
  • Ashley Park as Mindy Chen
  • Lucas Bravo as Gabriel
  • Samuel Arnold as Julien
  • Bruno Gouery as Luc
  • Camille Razat as Camille
  • William Abadie as Antoine Lambert

Beyond the main cast, Emily in Paris also features an impressive recurring cast. A few standbys from the past two seasons could return once more for season 3, and new characters (okay, love interests) seem like a lock to come back for next season.

  • Kate Walsh as Madeline Wheeler
  • Jean-Christophe Bouvet as Pierre Cadault
  • Kevin Dias as Benoit

Surely, Emily in Paris season 3 will also welcome new recurring and guest cast members into the fold. Maybe Mindy’s father will finally make an appearance to patch up their complicated relationship. Stay tuned for more Emily in Paris casting news.

Emily in Paris season 3 filming updates and behind-the-scenes photos

We have good news for fans of the Netflix Original! As mentioned earlier, Emily in Paris season 3 is in fact filming. Let season 3 filming begin!…” See the post below!

Ashley Park has also been sharing some behind-the-scenes photos from her time back in Paris, and just recently posted a series of pics with her co-stars Lucien Laviscount and Camille Razat. It looks like they are having a blast! Check it out below:

Emily in Paris season 3 first look photos

On Thursday, Sept. 22, ahead of the cast’s appearance at TUDUM, Netflix unveiled a slew of first-look photos from Emily in Paris season 3. In the photos, Emily shares up-close encounters with both Alfie and Gabriel, reigniting the love triangle.

Also of note, Emily (still in Paris!) shares a meal with Mindy and Camille, suggesting that Emily has put aside her feelings for Gabriel and buried the hatchet with Camille to become friends again. Surely, that dynamic will still be easier said than done.

Emily in Paris season 3 synopsis

Based on what happened in the shocking season 2 finale, we can glean a little bit of what we can expect from the follow-up season. In the process, she will be effectively altering the course of her relationships with both Gabriel and Alfie.

Of course, there will be lots more laughs, drama, and stunning fashion in Emily in Paris season 3 now that Sylvie has stepped out on her own from Savoir and Mindy has found a solid foundation for her singing career (and love life!). But what’s next for Emily?

Take a look at the official synopsis via Netflix:

"One year after moving from Chicago to Paris for her dream job, Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie — at work and in her romantic life — and what those decisions mean for her future in France, all while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides."

Emily in Paris season 3 trailer

On Nov. 30, Netflix shared the official trailer for the new season, and we caught our first real glimpse at what’s to come in the third season. Emily attempts to choose between working with Madeline and working with Sylvie, but it seems she chooses not to choose and works with both.

Meanwhile, Emily continues to find herself in the middle of Alfie and Gabriel. The trailer teases  potential sparks between Emily and Gabriel when he drunkenly tells her that she changed his life. What can we expect for Emily’s romantic and professional lives this season?
